WOLD CANCER DAY   By Georgia Menelaou World Cancer Day was established on the initiative of the International Cancer Society and is celebrated every year on February 4. It aims to deepen the finding that a large proportion of cancer cases are treatable through prevention, as well as that a large proportion of cancer deaths are preventable through early diagnosis and treatment. At the same time, it is a unique initiative based on which the whole world can join forces to fight the global cancer epidemic.  Cancer is a general term used to describe a group of chronic diseases that affect any part of the body. Alternatively, we call it a malignant tumor and a neoplasm. Its defining characteristic is the rapid growth and spread of abnormal cells. If the spread of cancer cells is not controlled, it can lead to death. In our country almost a quarter of deaths are due to cancer. Each year approximately 67,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed and 32,000 deaths from the disease are recorded. E

CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS🎁🎄

Celebration of Christmas: The first recorded celebration of Christmas was on December 25, 336 AD. This day is celebrated as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, a spiritual leader whose teachings form the basis of Christianity. The date was chosen because it is nine months after the Annunciation, which celebrates Christ’s conception in the womb of the Virgin Mary, on March 25. Since then, Christmas has been celebrated annually on December 25th by Christians around the world. The holiday has both religious and secular significance, and is celebrated with various customs such as exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, and sharing meals with family and friends.  Προέλευση: Bing by Microsoft Edge by Lina Kanaki 19/12/2023 PRINTED VERSION OF THE ARTICLE... https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0?ui=2&ik=7689066090&attid=0.1&permmsgid=msg-f:1785724962725736173&th=18c82b6475d0aeed&view=att&disp=safe   SOURCE https://wallpapercave.com/wp/w

26/11/2023 School visit to Thessaloniki’s War Museum    On November 12 th 2023, a group of secondr and third-year high school students from our High School of Chortiatis, accompanied by Mrs. Parousi and Mrs. Miliadou, visited the war museum to learn about the uniformed professions and, respectively, about attending these schools and the challenges that one might face as a student. More specifically, professionals who had themselves graduated from such schools as the Evelpidon school, the Naval school, the Ikaron school, and the Military school for officer corps told us about the school they later attended for professional rehabilitation. Of course, during the break that followed, all the children had time to do their own questions. Then, after the end of the break, they talked about the Merchant Navy, the Police Academy, the Fire Academy and the school of the Port Corps – namely the Greek Coast Guard. The people who spoke to us gave us the opportunity to become informed and aware of th
