Dear readers,

We have something exciting to announce!! ANOTHER COMPETITION HAS ENDED! This time the participants were tasked to write a romantic poem for St. Valentine’s Day !!

About the theme:  Ξ€he poem needs to be about Valentine's Day. The theme has to be something romantic like romantic gifts, love or someone can express his/her feelings. The language must be in English with the max 10 verses.

Application period: From 10-24 February 2024 you had the time to expand your mind limits and create the most complex and unique poem.

Winners and rewards: The reward/rewards were  a SUPRISE!

Competition rules:

1. Getting inspiration from the internet is allowed but do not go too far.

2. Do not copy the sweat of one’s brow.

3. Be unique and creative.

TEENAGE LOVE

Longing to share its hidden light

In whispered words, love takes flight.

Across the room, their eyes do meet

A silent language, oh so sweet!

With trembling hands and nervous sights

He gathers courage beneath the skies.

Words unsaid now find their way

As he opens his heart today.

Will she smile or turn away?

In anxious hope he wants to sway

With shy smiles and blushing cheeks

Their love story timidly peaks.

Through ups and downs, they’ll stand as one

Their teenage love has just begun.











 CHRISTMAS SHORT STORY COMPETITION           


Now that the lovely Short Christmas Story Competition has finished
and the winners have been selected, the time has come for them to be
announced as well!!! 
Valentini Sismanidou has won first place with the story “A Christmas
Story”, and Eleftheria Kolovou has won the second place with her
short story titled “Why”. 
It should be noted that the winning stories were selected after
serious thought. Have a good time reading them as well dear readers!!!

We would like to announce you, the bright start of the first yearly Christmas
competition of our school’s newspaper “Pen and Ink”. In this competition the
participants are tasked with the mission of writing a short Christmas story.
 About the theme: The story must be centered around Christmas. The genre of
the story can be anything from horror to comedy to romance to fantasy,
etc. The language must be in English with the maximum of 350 words.
 Application period: From 4 December to 18 December 2023 you will be given
the time to expand your mind limits and create the most complex and unique
story.
 About winners and rewards: The number of winners will be based on the
amount of young writers in participation. The first prize winner will have
his/her story published in our newspaper, and the reward will be………………....
a SURPRISE!!!

26/11/2023 School visit to Thessaloniki’s War Museum    On November 12 th 2023, a group of secondr and third-year high school students from our High School of Chortiatis, accompanied by Mrs. Parousi and Mrs. Miliadou, visited the war museum to learn about the uniformed professions and, respectively, about attending these schools and the challenges that one might face as a student. More specifically, professionals who had themselves graduated from such schools as the Evelpidon school, the Naval school, the Ikaron school, and the Military school for officer corps told us about the school they later attended for professional rehabilitation. Of course, during the break that followed, all the children had time to do their own questions.
